Lafayette, IN – This week Clarian Arnett Health will launch Photos for Health, a photography-based project to involve the greater Lafayette community in the health and wellness of its patients.

Photos for Health is intended to create a healing-focused environment at Clarian Arnett Hospital, by displaying some 500 images of the natural environment throughout its facility. Studies have shown that images of nature are best suited to provide a welcoming, peaceful environment for patients experiencing medical care and treatment.

The interior design theme at Clarian Arnett Hospital centers on the medicinal and symbolic meaning of trees. Accordingly, Photos for Health will solicit images of “Trees, Their Inhabitants, and Their Environment” in concert with the prevailing theme for this program.

“We believe this program will positively impact the experience of patients and the working atmosphere for our physicians and staff, states Dr. Michael Skehan, CEO, Clarian Arnett Health. “We are excited to involve the community in this project and hope many will participate in Photos for Health.”

Photos for Health will allow anyone, including hospital staff, patients, family members, and members of the community, to submit images of the natural environment for possible display throughout Clarian Arnett Hospital.

Photographs may be submitted to www.photosforhealth.com through May 31, 2008. A committee appointed by Clarian Arnett Health will approve the final selection of approximately 500 images in June 2008. Each photograph selected for display will bear the name of its photographer.

Photos for Health was developed by Jacqueline Buckingham Anderson LLC for Clarian Arnett Health. Clarian Arnett Health will stage an event to honor all art finalists prior to the opening of its facility.
