Lafayette, IN – Anne Zahnke, a Family Medicine Nurse Practitioner attended the weeklong conference, ‘Hot Topics in Primary Care Medicine.’ The conference provided participants with current information on crucial issues facing primary care providers. It also offered practical solutions to problems that can be applied in primary care.

The topics covered were:

• Management strategies for practical issues in diabetes and hypertension
• Current approaches to common women’s health dilemmas
• Diagnosis and treatment for common ophthalmic dilemmas
• Management strategies for foot and ankle problems
• Diagnosis and treatment for several dermatological problems

The topics were selected based on past participant evaluation requests, clinical expert input, literature reviews and an online needs assessment survey of family practice, general practice, and internal medicine health care professionals.
