"Over 11 years ago I lost my husband. I needed to find something to keep myself busy and allowed me to stay in touch with the community. Everyone at Arnett had always been so supportive and volunteering was my chance to give back.

A few years ago when the neurology department was still located at Greenbush, I had a brain tumor removed. When it came time to find a place to devote my time a few years later, spending my mornings here seemed like a sensible plan and gave me a sense of peace to know that if I needed them, the staff I trusted was right here.

By volunteering at Arnett, I am able to meet new people and catch up with those I have known for years. I have become the information center for the clinic because people recognize me and know I am here to help. I have watched the clinic grow and change over the years and remain constant in the community. I always look forward to my mornings at Arnett."

Who can volunteer?
Clarian Arnett Health welcomes volunteers from all walks of life. Our volunteers are diverse, from students to retirees. Volunteers are a very special part of Clarian Arnett. They make it possible to fulfill the many needs and projects that benefit patients and families as well as the community we serve.

The common thread that links all of our volunteers is compassionate and dedicated service. There are many ways volunteers can become involved at Clarian Arnett, and we can work with you to match your interests with our needs.

Why become a volunteer?
You can make a big difference in the lives of others by giving just a small amount of your time each week as an Clarian Arnett Ambassador.

Do you enjoy seeing a patient's smile?
You can greet patients as they enter the clinic.
Do you enjoy giving directions?
You can assist a patient to where they need to go.
Do you enjoy being with children?
You can read a book to children in a waiting room.
Do you enjoy making new friends?
You can chat with patients while serving them coffee or tea.

Volunteer Opportunities
You can volunteer your time in patient-focused or non-patient positions that include the following:

Guest relations assistant

• Greet patients and families as they enter the clinic.
• Provide directions and/or escort patients around campus.
• Translate general information and directions.

Clinic assistant

• Assist mothers with children in waiting rooms.
• Read a book to children in waiting rooms.
• Serve coffee and/or tea to patients.

Administrative assistant

• Assist various departments with administrative needs.
• Assist departments with light clerical needs and office tasks.

How can I become a volunteer?
New volunteers must submit an application and attend a brief orientation session. Volunteers also are required to complete a health screening.
